John Robert Thomas

Burl and Betty Thomas welcomed their newborn son, John, at the Panama Canal Zone Aug. 8, 1944. John overcame a childhood affliction, polio, and became a gifted athlete and talented musician. John matriculated at Cedar Hills school and graduated from Sunset High School in 1962. John attended University of Oregon and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, FIJIs. He met and married Robin Hood. Soon after they welcomed John Jr.
John had a successful career with Union Pacific Railroad. His career spanned over 30 years with relocations to Longview, Wash., and Little Rock, Ark. John retired early to come home and take care of his mother, Betty. John leaves his son, Robert of New York and soulmate, Sharen Binder.
Member of Beaverton FourSquare Church. Services will be held in the New Year.
