Judith A. Batey died Sept. 17, 1999, of cancer in Guntersville, Ala., at age 55. A service was held. 

Ms. Batey was born April 9, 1944, in Portland and was raised in Aloha. Her maiden name was McClure. She was a tax consultant for American Income Tax Service in Guntersville, where she had lived for the past 29 years. She worked as manager of the Country Cooler from 1990 until about three years ago. 

Survivors include her daughters, Marci Farley and Debbi Brown, both of Guntersville; brothers, Philip McClure of Fossil and Larry McClure of Crossville, Ala.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Interment was in Marshall Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
