Jay died in her Southeast Portland home at the age of 49.  The cause of death was unavailable at the time of the obituary pending the results of toxicology tests being conducted by the Multnomah County medical examiner's office.  She was born Jeannine M. Duskin on May 19, 1944, in Seattle and moved to the Portland area as a child.  She was a graduate of Sunset High School and attended the University of Oregon.  Jay had done office and secretarial work through a pair of temporary employment agencies.  Survivors include her son, Brandon of Medford; her brother David C. Duskin of Beaverton; and her father Robert H. Duskin.
