Jean, Thank you so much for alerting us to Mr. Pearson's passing! Time is slipping by, isn't it? After high school German class, I worked at Paul Koch Volkswagen repair shop in Gladstone. Half of the staff there were German. And spoke German to each other. I didn't let anyone know I spoke some German until one of the German repairmen pinched his finger in the door of the vehicle he was working on. And said, in German, a few funny yet not nice words. I laughed. He stopped swearing and asked me in German if I understood what he said. When I admitted I did (thank you Mr. Pearson), he warned the German-speaking repairmen to watch what they say in German around me. I had a great time working there that summer and enjoyed learning more German and about their lives in Germany from these wonderful men. Again, thank you, Herr Pearson!
