When Joy's email bounced I tried her email which her husband picked up.  He sent me the following message.

"With regrets, I share that my wife, Joy, died on September 20, 2025.  She battled Alzheimer's Dementia.  Joy was most proud of her affiliation with Sunset and even more proud that her son and daughter both graduated from Sunset High School."

*After reading the little that she had posted on her profile I checked to see if her son was still teaching at Sunset HS and he is.  A further look shows that he was the 5th Basketball Coach that Sunset has had and was very successful.

A Teacher, a Nurturer, a Friend, a Sister, a Daughter, a Partner, a Mom, a Granny … all words

that describe the person and her life’s journey. Her passing leaves those spirits for all to

cherish and continue to fulfill.

Joy is survived by husband Gary, Son Todd, Daughter Julie & Son in Law Brian, Five

grandchildren (Cody, Alex, Chase, Taylor & Tyler), Sister Judy, Sister’s In Law Marilyn &

Virginia, and many wonderful lifelong friends.
