Funny, I just had a thought about Tom during one of the recent "where are our classmates" postings. I only recall him at one of the early class reunions, but never saw him again at any other. Sorry to hear. He wasn't all that old. Maybe it was me, but he seemed a little sad, a little lost. I was hoping to see him again only because I was hoping he was happier in later life and would find the next reunion more fun. I recall him as a talented performer at school. I didn't know him that well, but he seemed like a nice guy.
So sad. Too many classmates leaving us to soon. Tom liked his drama classes & always took the time to say "hello". I remember it seemed he was most often smiling. Sincerely hope he lived a good life & rests in peace.
Tom and I did a lot together in drama classes and worked with the drama crew to help present Sunset's fabulous plays. I think of him when I think of "Smockville," which is now Sherwood, Oregon. He was a great guy and I am very sad to know that he has been gone for so many years. Rest in peace, old friend.
I have wondered over the years about my grade and high school classmate, Tommy Smock. Thank you for posting this notice.
I met Tommy when we started the fourth grade at Cedar Mill Grade School. He was a good friend and was very enthusiastic about things he was interested in. In high school, his acting ability was shared with us. As others classmate Thespians have commented, Tommy was there for each stage production, whether as an actor or helping to set up and change out each scene during the actual production.
Tommy's smile and enthusiasm will be remembered and missed.

Tom was a very talented and nice person. It makes me sad to think he is not here with us in body. But he surely is in spirit.

Tom was a very nice person to be around. Sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age.

Sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I remeber his wearing a beanie to class when he was trying to get his hair to hold a center part.
Met him for luck years ago when he was in San Francisco. I didn't know him well but he is in so many memories.
